Client case study
Little Greene is an independent Manchester based manufacturer of high quality, English Heritage approved paints and painted wallpapers. Distributed through interior designers, specialist stockists and its own flagships stores in London, Paris and Munich, Little Greene’s paints and painted wallpapers aim to be the best available.
Rickitt Mitchell has acted for Little Greene for two decades, providing board level guidance and input. In 2013 we helped David Mottershead take control of the business as part of a process to confirm Little Greene as a family business, underpinning its long term independence without losing the experience of his fellow shareholders. In 2015 we helped build its portfolio with the acquisition of the highly respected Paint & Paper Library brand.
“Paul Mitchell brings an invaluable breadth of business experience to our board and Brian’s corporate finance skills have provided us with a structure that exactly matches our company’s aspirations and values.”David Mottershead | Managing Director
Little Greene has expanded its brand portfolio, enabling better leverage of its distribution network and manufacturing facilities, whilst eliminating the need for any future distraction around changes in shareholders.
Little Greene has clarity and control over its ownership basis for the long term without reliance on external funders, whilst retaining the experience and insights of long-term non-executive shareholding directors and incentivising the next generation.
