About the client

Antler is Britain’s oldest luggage brand with an unmatched heritage dating back over 100 years. The brand holds the #2 position in the UK luggage market thanks to an excellent reputation for high quality, well-designed products at affordable prices.

Endless acquired Antler in 2017 after a period of heavy losses under the company’s previous ownership. Following a restructuring exercise and the appointment of Mark Hall as executive chairman and Ken Pratt as chief financial officer, Antler made an improvement in underlying earnings of almost £4 million. The company also introduced new product ranges and improved its online presence and digital marketing.

About the deal

Rickitt Mitchell advised Endless Private Equity and the management of Antler on its disposal to ATR Holdings, an associated company of Australia’s largest luggage retailer, Strandbags.

Rickitt Mitchell led a highly competitive and accelerated international process with trade and private equity bidders. This ultimately resulted in the sale to Strandbags, the largest retailer of luggage and associated accessories in Australia and New Zealand.

Antler was advised by Neil Mitchell, Kaine Smith, Adam Lovell and Charlotte Greenhalgh at Rickitt Mitchell.

"The Rickitt Mitchell team worked tirelessly through a challenging international process, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and dedication. Thanks for all your efforts."
